Sri Lanka has been battling with a financial crisis and is badly hit. The people across the country have been struggling and the prices of the common necessities touched the skies. Ranil Wickremesinghe took the oath recently as the new Prime Minister of the country and his cabinet has been trying hard to get the country out from the crisis. During his address in the Parliament, Ranil Wickremesinghe said that the economy of the country has collapsed completely. Ranil Wickremesinghe warned that the situation reaches rock bottom very soon. The country has 22 million people and the crisis is said to be the worst in the recent history. He did not reveal any greAt and new developments.
Ranil Wickremesinghe said that the situation cannot be fixed very quickly. Sri Lanka has been running in huge debts after it lost the revenue through tourism after the attack of the coronavirus pandemic. The country is now heading towards complete bankruptcy and there is a shortage for milk, gasoline, toilet paper and cooking gas. The lawmakers from the opposition parties came out to support Ranil Wickremesinghe who took the oath as the Prime Minister a month ago. He is also handling the Finance Ministry. Sri Lanka is unable to buy imported fuel due to the debts that surrounded the country told Ranil Wickremesinghe.
