Serena Williams might be world's numero uno player, but when it comes to making moolahs, the tennis ace is easily outsmarted by the Russian whiz Maria Sharapova.
Forbes has listed the 26-year-old tennis champ as the top earning woman in 2013. With this Miss Sharapova became the highest-paid female athlete in 2013.
Apparently, Sharapova pocketed a whopping £18.8 million in 2013 through prize money, endorsements, appearance fees and her sweet brand Sugarpova.
Next in the list was Serena Williams who earned £13.3 million through prize money (£5.5 million) and endorsements (£7.8 million).
China's Li Na is third on the list with £11.8 million income and Victoria Azarenka of Belarus bagged the fourth slot with a total earning of £10.2 million in 2012-2013.
Danica Patrick, Kim Yuna, Caroline Wozniacki, Agnieszka Radwanska, Ana Ivanovic and golfer Paula Creamer covered rest of the slots.
